About Martin
Santa Cruz County has been my home for over thirty years. After growing up in Southern California, my family relocated to this area in 1975, during the summer following my graduation from Occidental College. I distinctly remember getting out of the car upon our arrival, looking around, breathing the amazingly fresh air, and thinking that this was exactly where I wanted to live. Now, many years later, my wife and I have enjoyed living in Santa Cruz for over twenty years with our two children, an assortment of dogs, and Bruno the tortoise who roams around our backyard.
In 1981 I graduated from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Upon finishing law school at McGeorge, I had the unique opportunity to enroll in post-graduate legal studies at the University of Strasbourg in Strasbourg, France, as a recipient of a Rotary International Fellowship.
I have been practicing law in Santa Cruz County since 1989 and I chose to focus exclusively on family law in 1996. In 2007 I was certified as a Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar, Board of Legal Specialization. Over the years I have handled a wide array of matters involving family law situations and I am confident that I will be able to answer any questions you may have concerning your particular situation.
